\n Tucker Carlson\u2019s\u00a0top producer, who left Fox News\u00a0along with the far-right host\u00a0to\u00a0work\u00a0on his X\u00a0show,\u00a0is accused of sexually assaulting\u00a0a former colleague in\u00a0an alleged incident that occurred more than a decade ago.\n <\/p>\n

\n Andrew Delancey, a former Fox News employee, filed a lawsuit\u00a0against Justin\u00a0Wells, the former executive producer of \u201cTucker Carlson Tonight,\u201d accusing him\u00a0of\u00a0sexual assault\u00a0and harassment in 2008 when Delancey moved to New York for a job with Fox News\u2019 affiliate video service.\n <\/p>\n

\n The lawsuit, filed Monday in New York State court before a deadline set under\u00a0New York\u2019s Adult Survivors Act, also names\u00a0Fox News and its parent company Fox Corporation as defendants.\u00a0The law gave survivors a one-year window to bring claims against abusers, setting aside the statute of limitations for civil lawsuits.\n <\/p>\n

\n In the lawsuit, Delancey alleges\u00a0that he was befriended by\u00a0Wells who told Delancey he could help him\u00a0\u201clearn the ropes\u201d of the right-wing\u00a0cable network. At the time Wells was\u00a0a producer for Greta Van Susteren\u2019s\u00a0Fox News\u00a0show. The two men met for the first time at Wells\u2019 apartment where Delancey said he was \u201caggressively pushed\u201d on to Wells\u2019 bed and Wells \u201cviolently forced his tongue\u201d into Delancey\u2019s mouth,\u00a0according to the suit.\n <\/p>\n

\n Delancey said he yelled \u201cno\u201d\u00a0and pushed Wells off him.\u00a0Delancey also alleged that\u00a0Wells assaulted him again soon after the initial incident in the apartment building\u2019s stairs before he managed to leave.\n <\/p>\n

\n Delancey\u00a0said in the lawsuit that he\u00a0was \u201cwarned\u201d against going to Fox\u2019s human resources to report the assault and accused\u00a0Wells of hindering his career advancements because\u00a0he \u201cdid not give in to Wells\u2019s sexual demands.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cWithout a safe avenue to complain, Mr. Delancey was forced to encounter his harasser in the workplace throughout his time at Fox,\u201d the complaint stated.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cFollowing Wells\u2019s threats, Mr. Delancey found his career progression at Fox to
be obviously halted, a departure from the promised career advancements and warm welcome that he had received when he arrived at Fox,\u201d according to the lawsuit. Delancey returned to his job at a Fox affiliate in Tampa.\n <\/p>\n

\n In a statement to CNN, Delancey\u2019s lawyer Alfredo Pelicci\u00a0said that Delancey \u201cwill no longer be intimidated by Justin Wells or Fox\u201d and the law firm is \u201ccommitted to holding Mr. Wells and Fox accountable for their unlawful and abhorrent actions.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n The lawsuit does not specify damages.\n <\/p>\n

\n In a statement, Wells\u2019 lawyer Harmeet Dhillon said of Delancey\u2019s lawsuit that \u201cthis meritless legal action was filed 15 years after the alleged incident and mere days before the extended statute of limitations would have run.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Wells \u201cdenies the allegations unequivocally, and will contest them vigorously,\u201d Dhillon said. \u201cThis is yet another attempt by a law firm with a history of suing Fox and its former employees to cash in on frivolous allegations.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cAs a general matter, if you believe you\u2019ve been the victim of a sex crime, you have a moral obligation to alert police, so it doesn\u2019t happen to someone else,\u201d Tucker Carlson said in a statement to CNN. \u201cIf a man waits 15 years to cash in with a civil suit, no one should take him seriously. I certainly don\u2019t.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n In response, Pelicci said that Carlson\u2019s statements are a \u201cclassic example of the tactics that people with power and influence use to insulate themselves from accountability and silence victims.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Fox News didn\u2019t immediately respond to CNN\u2019s request for comment.\n <\/p>\n

\n The right-wing network has been rife with lawsuits, including most recently <\/strong>from former producer Abby Grossberg, who said the network fostered a deeply misogynist workplace. Perhaps the most high-profile results of sexual harassment lawsuits at Fox News were CEO Rogers Ailes resigning in 2016 and Bill O\u2019Reilly being forced out in 2017 amid a cloud of harassment allegations against them both.\n <\/p>\n

\n Fox fired Carlson\u00a0in April and canceled his program during the fallout from the $787 million lawsuit settlement between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
